    Ayurveda is a traditional system of Indian medicine. Ayurvedic medicine is an example of a well-organized system of traditional health care, both preventive and curative, that is widely practiced in parts of Asia. Today it remains a favoured form of health care in large parts of the Eastern world, especially in India, where a large percentage of the population uses this system exclusively or combined with modern medicine.

    Sattva is a one of the three gunas, or qualities of nature, the other two being rajas and tamas. Sattva is often described as the quality of purity, harmony, and goodness. It represents a state of balance, clarity, and tranquility. When sattva predominates, it leads to positive qualities such as wisdom, compassion, and understanding.

    The word AYUSH is derived from a Sanskrit phrase “Ayushman bhava” meaning long life. This phrase has been commonly used since the Mahabharata period for a healthy long life. In the present scenario, the term AYUSH is universally adopted for “traditional and Non – conventional system of health care and healing which include Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Naturopathy, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa, Homoeopathy, etc” by the commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology.
